Black Hills of South Dokota

Today we drove into Wyoming to visit Devil's Tower.. It is a huge rock jetting straight out of the hill side.. It is 1267 feet high...
The mt. is very scared to the Indians so they place prayer cloths on trees around the Devil Tower... They do not allow any rock climbing during the month of June because it is a scared time for the Indians and this is their site..

Tim acts like he just climbed the mt...

A lot of the rocks have fallen down over the years.. there are trails all around that you can take.

There were a lot of prairie dogs in the area..They were fun to watch...

The Black Hills are a small, isolated mountain range rising from the Great Plains of North America in western South Dakota and extending into Wyoming, USA. Set off from the main body of the Rocky Mountains, the region is something of a geological anomaly—accurately described as an "island of trees in a sea of grass". The Black Hills encompass the Black Hills National Forest and are home to the tallest peaks of continental North America east of the Rockies.
